Stylish & Comfortable Holiday Lets, Scottish Borders

Situated in a rural and unspoilt part of the Ettrick Valley, one of the most beautiful valleys in the Scottish Borders, Laundry Cottage is situated on Howford Farm, just outside Ettrickbridge and Riverside Cabin is situated nearby on the eastern fringe of the village.  The dog friendly holiday cottages sleep a maximum of 6 guests in Laundry Cottage and 4 guests in Riverside Cabin.  Both rentals are popular for couples and sole users as well as families. We often have a discount available if only 1 bedroom is being used. Please ask at the time of enquiry.

Howford lies to the south of the Ettrick Water in an elevated position and, despite its rural setting, is within easy reach of the county town of Selkirk (6.5 miles) and is also an hour from Edinburgh and its international airport.  Ettrickbridge has a good local pub, the Cross Keys Inn, serving real ale and home cooked food throughout the day and evening.  There is also a tennis court, play park and sports field with cricket and football nets.  Guests have access to the Tennis Club membership free of charge and can use the sports field at any time.   Both the sports club and pub are in Ettrickbridge, a 5-10 minute walk from the cottage and a few minutes from the cabin.

The Ettrick Valley is an ideal base for those who enjoy walking, cycling and riding.   For the golfer there are a number of golf courses to choose from.  Lying within the heart of the Duke of Buccleuch’s hunt country, Selkirk is most famous for its strong equestrian tradition and The Common Riding.   Exciting salmon and trout fishing is available on the Ettrick Water and there is very good game shooting locally.
